1. Agreement to These Terms
These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of Free Note Scanner (the "App"), developed and published by Free App Dev Studio, as well as this website, free-note-scanner.com. By downloading, installing, or using the App, or by browsing this website, you agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use the App or this website. We have written this in plain, readable language rather than dense legal boilerplate wherever possible, but it remains a formal agreement between you and Free App Dev Studio.
2. About the App
Free Note Scanner allows you to photograph and digitize handwritten and printed notes using your device's camera, with all scanning and text recognition performed locally on your device. No note content, image, or extracted text is uploaded to or stored on any server we operate, because the App has no server component to send that information to. Any organizing, renaming, or exporting you do within the App happens using storage local to your own device.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the App. If you are using the App on behalf of a business or other organization, you are agreeing to these terms both individually and on behalf of that organization, and you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these terms.
4. License to Use the App
Subject to your compliance with these terms, Free App Dev Studio grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download and use the App on devices that you own or control, for your own personal or internal business purposes. This license does not give you any ownership interest in the App. All rights, title, and interest in and to the App, including all associated intellectual property rights, remain with Free App Dev Studio. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, reverse-engineer, or attempt to extract the source code of the App, except to the extent such a restriction is prohibited by applicable law.
5. Your Responsibilities
When using the App, you agree that you will:
- Use the App only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these terms.
- Not attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App.
- Not attempt to disrupt, disable, or interfere with the App's normal operation.
- Not use the App to store or process content that is unlawful or that you do not have the right to possess.
- Take reasonable steps to protect your own device, since content is stored locally on it.
6. Your Content and Your Device
Any notes, images, or other content you create or import using the App belongs to you. We do not claim any ownership over content you generate using the App, and because that content is stored locally on your own device rather than on servers we operate, we generally have no access to it and no ability to retrieve, back up, or restore it on your behalf. You are responsible for backing up any content you wish to preserve, whether by using your device's own backup features or by exporting content from the App using your device's sharing tools. If you lose your device, reset it, or uninstall the App, content stored only within the App may be permanently lost, and Free App Dev Studio will not be able to recover it for you.
7. Privacy
The App does not collect or transmit personal data as part of its normal operation, and all data stays on your device. 8. Third-Party Services
The App is distributed through the Google Play Store, and this website displays advertising served through Google's advertising network. Your use of the Google Play Store is governed by Google's own terms of service, and your interaction with any advertisement displayed on this website may be subject to the terms and privacy practices of the advertiser or ad network involved, none of which are operated or controlled by Free App Dev Studio.
9. No Warranty
The App and this website are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure, that any scanned or captured content will be perfectly accurate, or that the App will meet your particular requirements. You use the App at your own discretion and risk, except where such limitation is not permitted by applicable law.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Free App Dev Studio and its individual contributors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of, or inability to use, the App or this website, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you.
11. Changes to the App or These Terms
We may update, modify, or discontinue the App, or any feature within it, at any time, with or without notice, as part of our ongoing effort to keep it simple and useful. We may also revise these terms from time to time to reflect changes in the App, our practices, or applicable law. When we do, we will update the "last updated" notice above. Continuing to use the App or this website after a revised version of these terms has been posted constitutes your acceptance of the changes.
